Handyman Ashington started in 2018 as a family-run business with a simple idea: people in Ashington and the villages around it needed someone dependable to call for the jobs that are too small for a builder but too fiddly, awkward or time-consuming to tackle alone. Since then we have built up a team of handymen who know local homes well, from the terraced colliery houses near the town centre to inter-war semis and the newer estates on the edge of town.
The range of work is wide. One visit might cover a dripping tap, a sticking door and a wobbly shelf; the next could be flat-pack assembly, painting a hallway or jet washing a driveway. We mean it when we say no job too small. If it is on your list, tell us about it and we will let you know honestly whether it is something we can help with. We are a small, family-run team, and that shapes how we work. The person you speak to on the phone cares about the job being done properly, because our name is on it and most of our work comes from people in the area recommending us to friends and neighbours.
We are straightforward about what we do. Everyday repairs, fitting, assembly, decorating, garden tidy-ups and small improvements are our bread and butter. We do not do gas work, and any electrical work that needs notifying under Part P is carried out or signed off by a registered electrician. Yes. We agree a price with you before any work begins. If we find something unexpected once we start, we stop and talk to you before going further.
